Delete your Gutwat account

Last updated: 31 August 2026

The short version. Open the Gutwat app and go to Profile › Delete my account. It happens immediately and cannot be undone. If you no longer have the app, email us from the address on your account and we will do it for you within 7 days.

1. From inside the app

This is the fastest way, and it takes effect the moment you confirm.

  1. Open the Gutwat app and sign in with your mobile number.
  2. Go to Profile (the last tab).
  3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete my account.
  4. Read what is removed and what has to stay, type DELETE to confirm, and tap the button.

You are signed out straight away and the same mobile number can be used to start a fresh account later — it will be a new, empty account, not the old one.

2. If you have already removed the app

Email gutwat@gmail.com with DELETE MY ACCOUNT in the subject line, from the email address on your account or telling us the mobile number you signed up with. We may ask you to confirm an OTP on that number, because otherwise anyone could delete somebody else's medical history. We complete it within 7 days and write back when it is done.

3. What is deleted

4. What has to stay, and for how long

WhatHow longWhy
Order and payment records — amount, date, order number. The medical content is stripped out. 8 years Indian tax law requires it
Anonymous counts of how many people opened the app or finished signing up. These never carried your name or number. 24 months To see where sign-up breaks

Nothing in what remains can be used to identify you or to see anything about your health.

5. This cannot be undone

Once it is done we cannot bring your history back — not from a backup either. If you only want to stop a running plan, you do not need to delete anything: Profile › My plan & invoices cancels the plan and leaves your account and your history alone.
